Course Description
In the Swimwear design course, students will learn everything from swimwear sketching, construction, and manufacturing. This course will start begin on the basics of swimwear design, and students will learn how to sketch swimwear, choose appropriate stretch fabrics, and learn garment construction. This course will also go into garment manufacturing on an international level, and teach students how to create viable tech packs and detail sheets to execute designs for sampling and manufacturing.

•Creating accurate tech packs for swimwear manufacturing
•How to drape swimwear fabrics on a dressform
•Patternmaking for swimwear
•Manufacturing swimwear in sample form and mass production
•Understanding Costing and Retails and learning how to create cost of goods sheets
•How to create look books and line sheets for buyers
Jessica Krupa is a design entrepreneur and professor of design focusing on swimwear and intimates in New York City. She has 15 years of experience creating swimwear and intimate apparel collections for a Fortune 500 Enterprises, such as Victoria’s Secret and Li & Fung, and has been awarded a design patent for innovation within bras. Jessica is a business entrepreneur, and runs her own luxury swimwear company called Krupa Couture Swim. Jessica is known as the swimwear and lingerie guru of the fashion industry.
