Sustainability and CSR in Fashion is designed to introduce students to the problems that are typical for fashion business. Today, fashion industry is considered as a huge polluter and very often is mentioned in negative context. Knowledge and awareness of Sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility principles are extremely important today - especially for fashion managers and marketers.
Terms like “Sweat Shops”, Fair-trade, dyeing process with chemical pollution, quota policies, use of pesticides in cotton growth recycling resources, being energy efficient in garment factories, workers treatment are in the main focus of this course.

Dr Alica Grilec is an Assistant Professor from University of Zagreb Faculty of Textile Technology.
She is a graduate from Zagreb University from Faculty of Economics and Master of Business Administration (MBA) course at the same Faculty. In 2009, she was awarded the title of Master of Science with her master’s thesis “Marketing in Textile and Clothing Industry”. Her doctoral dissertation was titled “The Influence of Dynamic Capabilities on Supply Chain Effectiveness and the Effectiveness of Enterprises” and she was awarded a doctorate on March 29, 2014, at University of Split Faculty of Economics. She has been working at the University of Zagreb Faculty of Textile Technology since 2008. Her teaching, scientific and professional work is focused on marketing and management in the fashion industry. She is the author of numerous scientific and professional papers and an associate on several European projects. She is fluent in English, German and Italian. She is a member of the Croatian Leather and Footwear Society and a member of the editorial board of “Leather and Footwear, magazine. Fashion marketing and fashion management are the centre of her scientific interests.
